For all of those who have experienced CrabApple Whitewater Rafting…
CrabApple
Light trickles into the swaying canopy
singeing holes
through the leathery reds and oranges.
Tiny tear drops linger on lonely branches.
Morning awaits, crisp and pleasant
Water sparkles and a light breeze
rustles the burnt tops,
clapping for bravery.
Toes frozen
Bodies warm
Helmets and vests secure
Off they go, wave after wave
White water reflects toothy smiles
One lost, stop and save
Back on the right
Forward on the left
All ahead
Faces red from fires above
Toes now warm
Time to relax
Calm
So calm
The quiet before a storm
All ahead hard!
Push it!
All ahead!
Everybody Hold On!
The thrill, the rush
Smiles stuck on their faces
Branches give a standing ovation
for bravery
Fires now dead
Everything hurts.
